The SSQ‑62F (GPS) is a sixth‑generation DICASS sonobuoy used to detect and localize submarines in preparation for attack. Integrated GPS makes it the recommended DICASS sonobuoy for international customers who need location reporting.
The buoy delivers precise range and bearing to the target and supports all four acoustic frequencies selected through Electronic Function Select, matching the flexibility of the SSQ‑62E. Command Function Select gives operators control of operating modes after deployment, and the buoy transmits NMEA RMC, GSV, GGA, and GSA messages.
