The SSQ‑62G is a NATO A‑size sonobuoy tested to meet US Government approved specifications and manufactured to the highest standards for the U.S. Navy and international customers. Its digital, multi‑functional design provides highly accurate range while maintaining traditional analog telemetry for platforms still using previous‑generation buoys.
Improved beam patterns reduce end‑fire, and acoustic power amplifier waveform control extends life while eliminating doppler artifacts at the source. Electronic Function Select configures the buoy before launch, and Command Function Select adjusts RF channel, depth, sonic frequency, GPS and scuttle after deployment.
